Alamo Restaurant in Riverdale

My father in law (now deceased) loved the Alamo and so do we....following each meal, when presented with the bill, he would say, 'I can't believe they serve all this great food for so little money!'

Solid Mexican/American fare... Servers extra nice. Quiet place during the day.

Very elegant and accessible place. They provide large meals and for economical prices. I enjoyed the menu a lot and the waiters were super welcoming and chatty. Will definitely recommend this spot.

Nice quiet spot with plenty of seating. We showed up with a party of 10. Food was delicious and staff very personable. The El Rey and shrimp fajitas were delicious.

Best Mexican food in Riverdale... They the best tacos that you can eat with hand made tortillas which is a plus. Patricia gave us an awesome service.

I go to this superb place once a month as I enjoy the special atmosphere that is exist in this restaurant. The team is extraordinarily helpful and experienced. The service is awfully fast. Needless to say, the food they serve is exceptionally good. I visited more than once and I was always joyful. The cost is fair. I suggest this place to all my friends.

Absolutely authentic Mexican food. We went here today for lunch and everything was fresh, made-to-order, and delicious. The prices are very reasonable. The restaurant itself is very clean and well-kept. If you're ever in the Riverdale area, this is the place to go for food!

I ordered from here which gave me a bad experience, first when I walked in they told me that I needed to go into the bar to order and the waitress forgot I was there on this side. Second, all the waitresses were on their phone and did t acknowledge me sitting there. Third, when I recieved my food and took it home in 3 mins it was cold and the shells were broken into small pieces. My first and last time going here.

Best ever 40 years still awesome. Every restaurant in this market should have to eat here first. Authentic it is if your reading this thanks. How do the big chains survive.

great food but too many drunks here

Excellent Mexican restaurant. Decentservice with large portions of quality food. Not many healthy choices though. Kitchy decorations and authentic music make for a fun dining experience. It not for the Rosalito crowd but that's not nessesarly a negative. The slow cooked pork is worth the drive.

Went to try their shrimp quesidillaThe shrimp werent cooked just pink1 slice of the quesidilla had 2 shrimp on itThere is absolutely no seasoning or flavorThe worst quesidilla ever..It was $13 The restaurant looks nice as far as the interior but I would not go back . I actually wanted to cancel it once I saw the finished product however I thought I would atleast taste it...very disappointing

I honestly like their dishes and customer service, good area to my house. The workers are always very kind. Will visit here again.

Used to come here as a child and that was a long long time ago. Tacos just as delicious as ever and had to get a Shirley Temple for old times sake.

Stopped in once for takeout; it was just okay, not knock-your-socks -off like a Don Pablo I hit up in Orlando when I went down on the Autotrain.

We used to love the Alamo, but over the past several years the food and service have declined greatly.

Always a great experience! Been going here about 30 years. Love their margaritas, fajitas and burrito del mar.

We have been eating here since the 70’s. It never disappoints. We love the nachos, guacamole salad and Mexican plate In particular. The service is always excellent, and the decor is updated and refreshed but retains its charm.

First visit. Great food. Hole in the wall feeling. I find that's often where the best food is. Prices similar to more centralized establishment so definitely higher than hole in the wall prices. Location sketchy in some ways, depending on your own personal constitution. Food is worth the shot for you to make up your own mind. I know I'll go back.

Food is good, service is a little on the slow side. But the service is nice. Definitely been in this location a long time.

Atmosphere is dark and gloomy. Big restaurant with a lot of space and seating with potential. Needs a make over. Food was ok. Wouldn't go back.

This place obviously knows how to treat their customers. Constantly with a helpful mindset. The food is conveniently priced, always flavorful and clean.

Read the reviews and went for lunch. Place was a bit empty and this may be why my service was so well despite what people have posted. I was greeted and seated very quickly, given some water and a menu and asked if would like something else to drink. I got a regular margarita, ice and salt. Nothing great but it would do the trick. Taco's and enchilada was great. Rice and beans were ok. All in all this is a good restaurant!

Love this place. I grew up in that neighborhood and have been going there for more than 25 years. Never as busy as it should probably be and the neighborhood continues to deteriorate around it.

I loved the guacamole rustico as an appetizer! Neat twist on guacamole. I got fajitas and I liked that there was more than 3 tortillas with them and I gone meals out of the one dish. My husband also enjoyed his meal. We will go back.

Great local Mexican eatery. Service is warm and friendly, and accommodating of those of us with limited Spanish. Several vegetarian options, all at reasonable prices. The refried beans are creamy. Chips and salsa delivered to the table when you sit down.

I got El Rey burrito. It was amazing. My family all enjoyed what they got as well.

Great Human place. We went here for Thanksgiving with the Christian Life Church. The food was delicious and the employees were super caring. The owners were very generous with the locale and staff.

I like this place a lot the last time I visited was on my birthday when my dad was alive, and he passed 2 years ago. My dad taught me about this place, even when I was young, it holds great memories, it's great food, they're super sweet and it's quiet, which is what I really like in a restaurant. It's a nice comfy, feel you can't go wrong.

The food is amazing the prices are great I've ate here two days on a row!

The seafood quesadilla was good however the seafood was over cooked. There was no seasoning on the chips or the guacamole. Service was like warm. However the waiter seemed as if she didn’t know the menu and just about anyone can walk in and order get their food and leave. Unfortunately if they had people who would recommend items from the menu it would have been better. The light fixtures however nice but they were covered in dust. In a corner was a contraption that seemed as though it didn’t either belong or work. The booths that are currently there are tight. They barely hold four people of average height and weight. The table settings are less than enthusiastic. No sugar or condiments on the table. The atmosphere is an ‘I don’t care’ attitude and attention. The entire staff sits in the kitchen area and chats it up.

Was very disappointed in my first visit here. No one was greeting at the door. 3 other customers were confused as well and decided to leave after 5 minutes of wait. I myself decided to go by the kitchen and ask if the place was open at noon 8/26/19. Our waitress was really sweet, however, she never came back to take our order. It was 10 minutes after she brought over the menu. The menu doesn’t seem authentic and the place was lonely. Just my family dinning in. Sad to say I didn’t have a good experience and I will not be returning.
